Released In April 1991
Yea-Sayers:
SINGER
OF THE WEEK
"Look, Mummy, it's the man who likes Morrissey," shout small children
as I go about my business. Let them laugh. I'd make this Single Of The
Week if it didn't seem such a wilfully perverse thing to do. 'Sing Your
Life' is one of the more toe tapping moments from the rather lumpy 'Kill
Uncle' set. He has a lovely singing voice, and even a Cure roadie will
find the tune charming. The B-side features the long-awaited 'That's
Entertainment'; the Jam classic performed with suitable desolation and
without a whiff of irony. Backing vocals are by one Jim Moir. Stephen
has had his ups and downs recently but is it better to be a happy pig
or an unhappy Morrissey? Ask yourself that, Chapterhouse.
- Stuart Maconie, New Musical Express, 4/6/91
Moz-Speak:
"...
it was a completely worthless version. I wanted to make it different
from the original, but maybe I shouldn’t have tried that. The original
is a classic and Paul Weller is, when he wants to be, a genius. Hopefully
we, Paul and I, will record a duet. I don’t know what song it will be
yet."
- Morrissey on "That's Entertainment", Slitz, September,
1992
